Meenakshi Ammal Trust is one of the pioneer organization functioning from the city of Chennai. The trust was started by the family of Thiru. A.N. Radhakrishnan, M.A., D.Com., Tmt. Meenakshi Ammal is the founder chairperson of the trust. Her daughter Tmt. Gomathi is the Correspondent and Thiru. A.N. Radhakrishnan is the Managing Trustee. The Meenakshmi Ammal Trust is very generous in promoting higher education in rural areas. The earnest and industrious efforts and the munificent outlook of the Managing Trustee were responsible for the promotion of Technical, Medical, Arts and Science education in the backward areas with an aim to provide higher education especially for the weaker sections of the society. Under the management of the Meenakshi Ammal Trust a number of eductional institutions covering the faculty of Engineering and Technology Medical, Dental, Polytechnic, m, Catering Technology, Training Institute were started at various locations in Chennai, Mangadu, Kancheepuram and Uthiramerur at different times during the past twenty years. For over two decades the Meenakshi Ammal Trust has been rendering valuables service in the field of Education.
The Meenakshi Ammal Arts & Science College was started as a women college during the academic year 2001-2002 with the approval of the Tamil Nadu Government (vide G.O. MS No. 97 dated 14.03.2001) and with affiliation to the University of Madras. Later it was converted into a co-education college (vide G.O. MS No. 146 dated 11.05.2006) The College is located at Malliankarani Road, Uthiramerur Taluk, Kancheepuram District. It is situated on the main road. It is a self-financing minority college functioning under the management of the Meenakshi Ammal Trust Chennai. This College was started with the aim of providing higher education to the women student population of this rural area, now extended to men students also. The college is housed in a spacious building with all amenities in a vast campus of about 15 acres of land. The Management of the college is very generous in fixing the tution fee at a fairly concessional rate in order to help the weaker sections also. It offers employment oriented courses of study as B.Sc., CS, Phy., Maths, B.C.A and B.Com., B.B.A., And M.Com., NSS, Red Ribbon Club and Youth Red Cross activities are encouraged.
Ever since the dawn of independence, leaders in our country have been laying stress on the importance of imparting quality education in the country, as good education alone will help people to rise in the various walks of life. Education involves investment of huge amounts running to several crores of rupees. In addition to allocation of funds for education, the Government have to pay attention to poverty alleviation measures. The Government alone may not be able to develop education exclusively in the public sector. Hence the development of educational facilities have also been permitted to be undertaken by Public Charitable Trusts and private organizations also.
In the above background Meenakshi Ammal Trust was formed in the year 1983 as a Public Charitable and Educational Trust with its Registered office in Chennai 600 078. The following individuals are the Founders and Hereditary Trustees of the Meenakshi Ammal Trust:

- Mrs. R. Gomathi- Founder Trustee
- Dr. G.Ra. Gokul – Hereditary Trustee and Managing Trustee
The Trust members do not have any political connections. They are not members of any political party. Further, they do not have any business dealing and they have no profit motive.
The Trust has been started with the sole object of establishing educational institutions. In fact the only aim is to spread knowledge and promote education in all fields, viz Polytechnic, Engineering and Technology, Architecture, Arts and Science, Schools, College of Education, Teacher Training Institute etc. Ever since the establishment of the Trust, the members of the Trust have been functioning with missionary zeal and dedication striving every nerve to spread education to all section of people, without any discrimination of religion, caste, community, region etc.
The Trust has established several educational institutions, namely Engineering Colleges, Polytechnic College, Industrial Training Institute, Arts and Science College, Matriculation Higher Secondary School, CBSE Schools, College of Education and a Teacher Training Institute. College Rules & Regulations
Upholding Values, Ensuring Success
All the students whose names are on the rolls automatically become bonafide students of the college.
All the bonafide students will be issued identity (ID) cards as per the prevailing norms. It is mandatory that the students should keep the ID card with them. Wherever and whenever necessary on demand the student must produce the ID cards which they will be charged fine of Rs.5.00. Loss of ID cards should be reported to the college authorities and suitable alternate arrangements will be made to provide new/duplicate ID card at their own cost. The security staff will not permit any student inside the campus without their identity card.
Prayer & Discipline
Nurturing Spirit and Character
- All the students will have to attend the morning prayer, in their class room. All along during the prayer they should maintain absolute silence and will not do anything that would disturb or other wise spoil the sancity of the prayer. Failure to attend the morning prayer or to oblige the above mentioned.
- When the lecturer / professor enters the Lecture hall, all the student should standup until the Lecturer / professor asks them to resume their seats or till the Lecturer takes his / her seat.
- Students will leave the lecture hall only when the class is dismissed.
- Students shall not leave the campus without the permission of the competent authority.
- During working hours students should not wander about loitering in the college premises.
- When meeting the principal the dignity of the of ..... must be respects. Unnecessary arguments indecent behaviour are panishable offence and will result in dismissed.
Ten Important Instructions to The Students
- Students should avoid usage of polythene / plastic products in the college campus.
- Students are strictly forbidden from collection of money, Material, matter or subscription involving money for any purpose, without written permission of the principal.
- Students should not bring and of distribute among themselves any kind of food items or estables, sweets etc. without the permission of the Principal. 14. Students should not celebrate any function or any event or any message within the classroom or in the college campus. They should not hold any kind of meeting or assembly within the college campus without the prior permission of the Principal. Violation of these rules will be dealt with severely.
- Students should not circulate any kind of notice, hand bills or materials of the nature of advertisement.
- Students are not allowed to bring any outsiders to the college premises.
- RAGGING IN ANY FORM is strictly prohibited. It is all so clearly informed that Ragging is banned by the Government of Tamilnadu. As such any student involved in ragging will be expelled immediately not only from the college, further the student involved will be handedover to the Police for appropriate action.
- Usage of cell phone and FM is prohibited in the college campus,failing this willface tofine ofRupeesTwo Hundred, the instrument will be seized and will not be given back.
- Smoking and consumption of pan is prohibited inside the campus.
